HEIs gather to craft policy on Academe-Industry Partnership

Select Philippine HEIs attends the 2-day workshop on Identification of Research Agenda for Academe-Industry Partnership on October 18-19, 2018 at Discovery Suites, Ortigas.

The Commission on Higher Education, in partnership with the British Council, organized the activity which aims to share the best practice of UK on bridging the university-industry gap and on building o national infrastructure for innovation that brings together these two sectors.

UK Consultant on Knowledge Exchange, Mr. Adrian Day, will present the UK Knowledge Exchange Policy, Data, Trends and Funding, as well as the Evolving Academe-Industry Partnerships of UK. Likewise, the Philippine HEIs Academe-Industry Partnerships: Strategies and Initiatives of DLSU, USC and MSU-IIT will be presented.

At the end of the workshop, the group is expected to draft a policy paper which will articulate CHEDs priorities, general policies, standards and guidelines in developing and supporting HEIs' university-industry partnerships.

The commission plans on presenting internally the policy paper for approval and policy adoption in December 2018.

Participating HEIs are: CLSU (represented by Dr. Fe Porciuncula VP for RET), USM, UPD, UPV, UPM, UPLB, Xavier University, ADMU, ADNU, DLSU, AUF, BU, USC, UST, WMSU, MMSU, ISU, CMU, ADDU, BSU and MSU-IIT.
