The Central Luzon State University has developed a Professional Science Master’s Program in Dairy Food Products Technology.

The two-year degree program will prepare students for work in the Dairy Manufacturing Industry, and will provide them the opportunity to learn the technical and business aspects of dairy manufacturing which are important in the dairy industry.

The development of the said program was made possible through the support of the STRIDE (Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development) of the United Agency for International Development (USAID).

STRIDE supports the enhancement of tertiary programs in Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through the development and offering of PSM degree programs.

CLSU, through the College of Home Science and Industry – Department of Food Science and Technology (DFST) headed by Acting Dean Jessica Rustia and concurrent DFST chair; will be the main program implementer. The CHSI faculty will teach most of the technical courses.

Dr. Alma de Leon, a senior DFST faculty, is the research coordinator.

Members of the faculty of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy will be handling the business and management courses.

The Philippine Carabao Center, on the other hand, will be CLSU’s partner-institution in implementing the PSM degree program.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development and offering of the program was held last August 14 at the Chives Function Hall of the Department of Hospitality Management, College of Home Science and Industry.
