University of Georgia professor speaks in Biotechnology Seminar at CLSU

Dr. Wayne Parrot, professor of Crop Science at the University of Georgia, and scientific adviser to the Biotechnology Committee of the International Life Sciences Institute, delivered a plenary lecture on “Global Research Trends in Emerging Biotechnology Products and Processes” at the RET Amphitheater. His lecture was the highlight of the Seminar/Focus Group Discussion on Global Trends in Biotechnology held last November 18. The theme of the activity was “Globalizing Biotechnology Initiatives in CLSU”.

The seminar was through the initiative and coordination of the CLSU Academic Research Council (ARC) chaired by Dr. Melissa E. Agulto, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and the CLSU International Affairs Office headed by Dr. Renato G. Reyes, director and co-chair of the ARC.

A number of CLSU faculty members/researchers also presented their respective college’s research initiatives in biotechnology. They were Prof. Celynne Ocampo Padilla of the College of Agriculture; Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, dean, College of Fisheries; and Dr. Renato G. Reyes, director, CLSU International Affairs Office and co-chair, CLSU Academic Research Council; and Dr. Clarissa Yvonne J. Domingo of the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine.
