Response Speech of Dr. Thep Phongparnich – Gintong Butil Awardee during the conferment ceremonies on March 29, 2012, RET Amphitheater

Ladies and gentlemen.

Good morning!

Once again I humbly stand before you, filled with deep appreciation that once more you bestow me this Gintong Butil Award of which I am worthy to receive.

I accept this award as a sign of respect to my dear alma mater , the first foreign university I have known that molded me to what I become today.

I have come to accept this award as an honor to Maejo University, an institution that I have the rare privilege to lead to a pedestal of excellence and leadership; an institution that I hope will continue to share its blessing of resources to its sister and partner universities around the world, like CLSU.

I would like to thank CLSU for giving me this honor and I receive it with pride on behalf of my family, my university and my country. I hope this award continues to inspire us to do good to other people especially those in need. Most particularly, I hope this will inspire all of to use the power of education to create peace among mankind.
