CBAA studes among finalists in finance tilt

Four students of the College of Business Administration andAccountancy (CBAA) placed second in its cluster in the national elimination round of the 13th Intercollegiate Finance Competition (ICFC) held last October 23 at the Assembly Hall of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas with 80 schools participating.

Dexter Apolonio, Angelica Fernando and Mark Anthony Tangonan, BS Accountancy; and Julius Sabandal, BSBA Economics, advanced to the fi nals held on October 24 making CLSU-CBAA among the top 23 fi nalist-schools. The 20 Philippine schools consisted of three from Northern Luzon, seven from NCR, eight from Visayas and two from Mindanao and three international schools, namely; National University of Singapore, and Chulalongkorn University and Assumption University of Thailand, all in Southest Asia. According to Dr. Danilo S. Castro, CBAA dean, CLSU ranked 12 among the 23 fi nalists. The ICFC is recognized as the most prestigious intercollegiate competition in the fi elds of fi nance, accounting and economics. The activity was sponsored by the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines in partnership with JP Mogan Chase & Co. and Asian Institute of Management.
