1st runner-up in World Rabies Day Quiz

The CLSU College of Veterinary Science and Medicine grabbed the top spot in the National Poultry Quiz Bee held last September 26 at SM Megatrade Halls 1 and 2, Mandaluyong City.

A first timer in the contest, the CLSU team bested 12 other competing teams from different veterinary schools in the country.

The champion team was composed of Allen Veloso, Evelyn Saddoy, and Christian Daquigan who received P50,000 cash prize and a trophy.

Two teams from the University of the Philippines–Los Baños (UPLB) landed in the second and third spots while the team from the De La Salle Araneta University got  fourth place.

Another team from CLSU emerged fifth during the said quiz bee.

In another contest, the World Rabies Day Quiz Show held last September 25 at the Podium, Ortigas Center,  the two teams fielded by the CLSU  copped the second and third places.

The CLSU teams which garnered the second  and third places were  composed of Errol Jay Balagan, Felkins Macabitas, and Justin Gonzales; and Allen Veloso, Evelyn Saddoy, and Christian Daquigan, respectively.

The UPLB women  vets team, one of the five teams from the said university, got the top spot with  one point ahead of  the CLSU team.

According to Dr. Romeo Gundran, CVSM dean, the CLSU teams were coached by  Dr. Rodolfo Medrano and Dr. Fredelon Sison, both faculty members of the college.

Other participants who joined the seminar and quiz show were the UP Rodeo teams, UP Alpha Chiron Society team, and the De La Salle-Araneta teams.
